We build neutral, brand-independent calculators for portable power, backup power and small solar systems.

We started PlanMyWatts because most power calculators online are made by manufacturers that only recommend their own products, and they often ignore start-up surge, inverter losses and real-world solar output. Our goal: honest numbers, with the math visible, for every brand.

Our principles

• Transparent math: every calculator shows its formula and assumptions (see methodology).
• Brand-neutral picks: recommendations are selected only by whether specs fit your result.
• Free: we're funded by ads and affiliate commissions, never by manufacturers paying for placement.
